Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the evidence based profession concerned with the restoration of movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.

This is usually achieved by physical methods, most commonly through manual therapy, massage, exercise prescription and advice.

There are many different types of physiotherapy including Musculoskeletal, Neurological, Cardio-thoracic and Paediatrics. Currently Spine Institute focus on Musculoskeletal and Paediatric physiotherapy treating conditions related to sport and work place injuries of the spine and limbs, sprains, strains, muscle and joint pain, bursitis and rehabilitation following surgery to developmental delays in children, plagiocephaly, torticollis and club foot.

Physiotherapists encourage patient involvement in their own treatment enabling them to make a faster, and more enjoyable recovery.
